... I'm just putting it there, because some United States' publisher is stupid to the point of thinking that in a 1880' book, "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain, that deals with the problem of slavery, there shouldn't be such a word. So it's going to print an edition of the book where every occurrence of "nigger" is substituted by "slave"; "for protecting the kids" it says.

I've just checked my (italian) version, it plainly says "nigger"; and in my house nobody has ever tried being racist.

... la butto lì, perché un editore statunitense è stupido al punto da pensare che in un libro del 1880', "Le avventure di Huckleberry Finn" di Mark Twain, che parla del problema della schiavitù, non ci dovrebbe essere una parola del genere. Quindi stamperà un'edizione del libro dove ogni occorrenza di "negro" è sostituita da "schiavo"; "per proteggere i bambini" dice.

Ho appena controllato la mia versione, dice semplicemente "negro"; e nessuno in casa mia ha mai nemmeno provato ad esser razzista.
