It's almost easter. Some people will celebrate the death and rising of a guy called Jesus. That's like celebrating the death of Homer: there are no written accounts by eye witnesses of his existence, but believing that he existed makes somebody feel better. With the difference that Homer's follower don't have their own state, and usually don't try to force all other people to act as Joseph Ratzinger thinks it's correct.
For me, I think some kind of preacher called Jesus existed in Galilee, and was killed. Things haven't much changed since then.

È quasi pasqua. Alcuni celebreranno la morte e resurrezione di un tizio chiamato Gesù. Che è come celebrare la morte di Omero: non ci sono testimonianze scritte di testimoni oculari della sua esistenza, ma credere che sia esistito fa sentir meglio qualcuno. Con la differenza che i seguaci di Omero non hanno un proprio stato, e tipicamente non cercano di obbligare tutti gli altri ad agire come Joseph Ratzinger pensa sia giusto.
Per quanto mi riguarda, credo che un qualche tipo di predicatore di nome Gesù sia esistito in Galilea, e venne ucciso. Le cose non sono granché cambiate da allora.
